Fierce In The City 3 - Fashion Show Recap!
Fabulous and Fleeting
What do fashion shows and floral arrangements have in common?
Well, for starters both take hours of work of cultivation and creation - in the end however, they are meant to be enjoyed in a moment of impermanence. What a wondrous way to turn weeks of labor into two minutes on the runway - or a few days of fresh cut flowers beauty.
Somehow the fleeting nature of how we enjoy both commands that we are more present in their artistry. Much like preserving a flower between the pages of heavy book however, we can recall the memories through images.
Thankfully we had some great photographers to capture the show just in case you missed it. A shout out to Roy B whom I have teamed up with for multiple creative photoshoots.
Some of my favorite shots are behind the scenes. They really capture the spirit of the event. The excitement, the collaboration and joy of being part of something we all believe in. These images tell the bigger story that occurs off the runway of real people working together for a singular vision. Here are some to give you a peek behind the curtain.

Moments to Remember
Ever want to know what’s it like backstage moments before your models step up to rock the runway? Here’s a fun clip to travel back in time seconds before the show started.

If These Images Could Talk
Back to the beauty of storytelling and the power that images have to do so. The below sequence gorgeously portrays an intimate moment of fussing with final details between my friend Gino and my model Katy. Gino Velardi, a Denver fashion designer darling, generously made custom gowns and matching turbans for all of my models. His work has major glamour appeal and has always been an easy pairing with my creations. Not to mention he’s like family to me.

Love Lives Here
Amidst the quiet moments in my studio on a typical day, it’s nice to have evenings like this to remind me of the great community I have.
I had a few new faces to join my go-to model tribe for this event. Two of them who had never walked in a show before. Thank you Lily and Nicole for having the courage to take your first steps on a runway. It’s not as easy as it looks and you both killed it.
A huge amount of gratitude to Kris Collins (my hubby) for being a proxy for me and the best brand evangelist a girl could ask for.
Celebrating a night like this would be downright inappropriate without champagne. So, thank you Janet Rudolph for bringing reinforcements of extra bubbly. My team and I are eternally grateful.
Lastly, thank you to everyone involved, especially Salwa Owens, who produced the show. Whether you were part of the production or came to support. Your relationships are something I treasure, as are the memories we’ve made throughout the years.
Showtime!
