One-of-a-kind, colorful gemstone jewelry, made one at a time across the years in my Denver studio. My jewel box, where a single stone starts everything.
Before the collections
Eclectic jewelry mixes stones, colors, and eras instead of matching them, and this is my collection of it, quite literally my jewel box. These are the one-of-a-kind pieces I made across the years, before I began working in cohesive collections, back when a single stone would catch me and I would build a whole piece around it just to see where it went. A slab of dinosaur agate. A slice of amethyst geode with its lace of crystal. A piece of white buffalo turquoise I could not put down.
Nothing here matches anything else, and that is exactly the point. Each piece followed its own stone, so the collection is color and instinct rather than one palette: rutilated quartz beside imperial jasper beside a chandelier of iolite and cat's eye. It is eclectic in the truest sense, made for the person who would rather wear something no one else can find.
Because every piece is one-of-a-kind, when one sells it is gone for good. What is left is exactly what caught my eye, and might catch yours.
At the bench
Every piece here is fabricated and assembled by hand in my Denver studio, and the design always follows the stone rather than the other way around. I choose the stones one at a time, many of them at the Tucson Gem Show, then build outward from a center stone, clustering color around it until the piece feels inevitable. Some are cast from hot wax dripped straight into water, so the metal freezes into a shape I could never draw twice. Where a stone cannot take a torch, I set it with cold connection, wiring and riveting rather than soldering, so nothing gets scorched. I work in 14k gold, gold-filled, and sterling silver, and every piece is built only once.

• Tassel and fine edging around the main pendant consist of fine silver beads made by the Karen Hill Tribe silversmiths in northern Thailand - using traditional tribal methods, each piece is made by hand using primitive tools to create the meticulous detail present in each bead. The silver used to create these beads is fine silver which has a 99.9% purity in comparison to sterling silver which has a purity of 92.5%.

This one-of-a-kind Imperial Jasper and Gemstone Necklace is handmade by Andrea Li in her Denver studio: a centerpiece of imperial jasper surrounded by a hand-placed cluster of rose quartz, fancy cut whiskey topaz, AAA quality Oregon Sunstone, spinel, grey moonstone, and freshwater pearl, hanging from a 14k solid gold chain on 14k gold filled wire with 24k gold vermeil over sterling peacock pearl accents.
The palette moves from the warm, pictorial swirls of the imperial jasper through the champagne-to-copper fire of the Oregon Sunstone, grounded by the soft lavender of rose quartz and the pewter flash of grey moonstone. Total pendant length is 3″; total necklace length is 21″. Built once and never repeated, from the Jewel Box collection, made for a collector who wants something genuinely unrepeatable.
Every stone is cold-connected, assembled entirely with wire and never with heat. That is not an aesthetic choice: stone-to-stone cluster work means each link is load-bearing, and heat or mechanical pressure at a setting point can fracture a drilled stone. I build each connection by hand, fitting the wire through each drilled hole so the stone sits secure without ever being stressed. That is what lets a piece this layered wear daily without putting any single stone at risk.

This one-of-a-kind Labradorite Drop Pendant Necklace with Gemstones is handmade by Andrea Li in her Denver studio: multiple 14k gold-filled chains drape around a large labradorite briolette pendant, its flash deepened by a hand-placed cluster of AAA quality Swiss Blue topaz, green amethyst, lemon topaz, mystic topaz, pyrite, amethyst, and green cats eye. The 14k gold-filled wire and 24k gold vermeil clasp complete the build. Total length 22 inches.
Labradorite is an inherently dramatic stone. Its flash shifts depending on the angle of light, which means the same necklace reads differently every time you move. Clustering it with Swiss Blue topaz and lemon topaz keeps that movement in the cooler, more luminous register, while the mystic topaz and pyrite pull in warmth and depth. No two elements in this cluster repeat what the others do.
Every stone is cold-connected, assembled with wire and never with heat. There is a real reason for that: a briolette is drilled through its narrowest point, which is exactly where the stone is most brittle. Heat or pressure at that spot would fracture it. I wire-set each stone individually, fitting the wire to the drilled hole so the connection is secure and nothing is forced. That is what lets a labradorite briolette anchor a layered cluster like this without putting the stone at risk.

This one-of-a-kind Long Labradorite and Gemstone Necklace is handmade by Andrea Li in her Denver studio: a large labradorite teardrop briolette hangs from a 24k gilded labradorite chain and circle backing, surrounded by a hand-placed cluster of green amethyst, purple amethyst, pyrite, mystic topaz, and AAA quality Swiss blue topaz. Labradorite shifts. Depending on the angle of light it can read blue, grey, gold, or green, sometimes all at once. These one-of-a-kind Rose Quartz Chandelier Earrings are handmade by Andrea Li: tiered drops of rose quartz, Herkimer diamonds, moonstone, white topaz and Swarovski crystals paired with GIA certified high lustre pearls, all on sterling silver throughout, 3'' total length.
Every stone in this piece is cold-connected, assembled with wire and never with heat. Gemstone briolettes are drilled at their narrowest, most brittle point, so introducing heat at that site risks fracturing the stone. Building cold protects each gem and lets the drops hang with freedom of movement, catching light at every angle. The GIA certified pearls at the base of the composition close the tiers with their softer lustre, a contrast to the sparkle and flash of the faceted Herkimer diamonds and white topaz above them.

Every stone is cold-connected, assembled with wire and never with heat. Gemstone drops like these are typically drilled at their narrowest, most brittle point, so introducing heat at that site would risk fracturing the stone. Building cold protects each gem and keeps the drop secure without putting any stone under pressure. The citrine, amethyst and peridot are hand-selected and placed to flow across the tiers; the freshwater pearl closes the composition with its quieter, softer lustre against the faceted stones.

This one-of-a-kind Australian opal statement necklace is handmade by Andrea Li in her Denver studio: an asymmetric design built across multiple sterling silver chains and anchored by an Australian opal pendant.
Around the opal sits a hand-placed cluster of tanzanite, iolite, chalcedony, labradorite, mystic topaz, pink amethyst, natural sillimanite cat’s eye, purple amethyst, and pearl. The off-balance composition is intentional, designed to move and catch light from every angle. From the Signature Collection: built once, never replicated, never manufactured, made for a collector who wants something genuinely unrepeatable.
Opal is the most fragile stone I work with, and I learned that the hard way building my pastel collection, where I broke more than a few before I changed my approach. Now I set the opal last and seat it by hand, leaving deliberate give in the surrounding cluster so no single point of pressure ever reaches the stone. The whole necklace is cold-connected, assembled with wire and never with heat, which is what lets an opal anchor a piece this layered without putting the stone at risk.

Andrea has been designing one-of-a-kind gemstone jewelry in Denver for 18 years. She trained in traditional jewelry techniques, runs a one-woman studio, and personally handles every step from gemstone selection to final finishing. There is no team, no production assistant, no outsourced labor.

How to Care for Handmade Gemstone Jewelry
Handmade gemstone jewelry is built to last, but it’s not invincible. A few simple habits will keep your pieces looking the way they did the day they arrived.
Store separately
Keep each piece in its own soft pouch or compartment. Gemstones can scratch other gemstones and metals when stored together. The pouch your piece arrives in is designed for this, so use it.
Put it on last, take it off first
Apply perfume, lotion, hairspray, and sunscreen before putting on your jewelry. Remove it before swimming, showering, exercising, or sleeping. Chemicals and moisture are the enemies of both metal and stone.
Clean gently
Use a soft, dry cloth to wipe down your piece after wearing. For deeper cleaning, use warm water with a tiny drop of mild dish soap and a soft brush. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners, steam cleaners, and any commercial jewelry cleaner that contains ammonia, which can damage softer gemstones and the finish on handcrafted metalwork.
Know your stones
Different gemstones have different hardness levels. Quartz varieties like amethyst and green amethyst (Mohs 7) are durable for daily wear. Labradorite and moonstone (Mohs 6–6.5) need a bit more care, so avoid impacts and store them carefully. Pearls are soft (Mohs 2.5–4.5) and should never be exposed to chemicals or rough surfaces.
Gold filled, solid gold, and sterling silver
14k solid gold won’t tarnish. Gold filled has a thick layer of gold bonded to a base metal, so it’s durable and won’t rub off with normal wear, but avoid prolonged moisture. Sterling silver tarnishes naturally over time; a quick polish with a silver cloth restores the shine. All three are built to last when cared for.
Repairs happen
Handmade jewelry is repairable, which is one of its advantages over mass-produced pieces. If a clasp loosens, a stone shifts, or a wire needs adjustment, Andrea handles repairs on her own pieces. Reach out through the custom shop to start.

What is eclectic jewelry?
Eclectic jewelry mixes different stones, colors, and styles instead of matching them. This collection is my jewel box: the one-of-a-kind pieces I made across the years before I worked in cohesive collections, each one built around a single stone that caught me, so nothing matches anything else.
Are these pieces really one-of-a-kind?
Yes. I build each piece once, by hand in my Denver studio, and never reproduce it. When a piece sells, it is gone for good.
What metals and gemstones do you work with?
I work in 14k gold, gold-filled, and sterling silver, with gemstones I choose one at a time, many of them from the Tucson Gem Show. You will find gemstones like dinosaur agate, imperial jasper, labradorite, rutilated quartz, and white buffalo turquoise here.
How do I care for these pieces?
Store each piece separately so the stones and metals do not scratch, keep them away from perfume, lotion, and water, and wipe them with a soft cloth. An occasional polish keeps sterling silver bright, and because many pieces use natural gemstones, do not soak them.
Can you remake a piece if it has sold?
Not exactly, since each piece is one-of-a-kind and tied to a stone I will not have again. But if something here speaks to you and it is already gone, I take commissions and can build something new in the same spirit. Just reach out.

This one-of-a-kind Dinosaur Agate and Tundra Sapphire Necklace is handmade by Andrea Li: a layered gemstone cluster built across a 14k solid gold chain, anchoring dinosaur agate, tundra sapphire, citrine, moonstone, whiskey topaz, chopine, marble agate, sunstone, and freshwater pearl together into a composition that moves and shifts with the light.
Dinosaur agate is the anchor stone here, and it earns that position. The matrix of minerals preserved inside each slice means no two pieces are alike, and the earthy, fossiled surface reads differently at every angle. Tundra sapphire and citrine pull the palette between cool blue-gray and warm amber. The moonstone and sunstone carry the light from within. Chopine and marble agate quiet everything else, letting the cluster read as a complete piece rather than a collection of individual stones. Total length is 24 inches, sitting on the sternum and draping gracefully down the decolletage.
Every connection here is cold, assembled with wire and never with heat. Gemstones this varied in hardness and thermal sensitivity need that approach: heat is unpredictable near stone, and a cluster this layered requires each bail and wrap to be individually sized.
