14k Gold-Filled 2 Pearl Open Twist Bracelet
This 14k gold-filled 2 pearl open twist bracelet is handmade by Andrea Li: a 14k gold-filled flex tube bracelet in an open twist form, set with two freshwater 9-10mm grade-A pearls. It is part of Aglow, her modular collection of barely-there, naked jewelry built to be stacked, layered, and lived in.
The twist keeps the piece from looking too classic pearl. The open form and the flex tube construction mean it sits naturally on the wrist, moves with you, and reads as modern without trying too hard. Two large, grade-A pearls at 9 to 10mm: that is a size you can actually see on the wrist, lustrous and round, framed by the twist of gold rather than strung end to end on a chain.
I choose grade-A freshwater pearls for luster and surface quality, which is what separates a pearl that stays beautiful over years of wear from one that dulls quickly. Pearls are soft, around 2.5 to 3 on the Mohs scale, so I put them on last, after lotion and perfume, take this bracelet off first, wipe it with a soft cloth, and store it flat rather than tossed in with harder stones. The 14k gold-filled construction holds up to daily wear in a way plated alternatives do not.
