14K Graduating Pearl Ear Climber Earrings

14K Graduating Pearl Ear Climber Earrings
These 14K Graduating Pearl Ear Climber Earrings are handmade by Andrea Li in her Denver studio: solid 14k gold earrings that can be reversed as an ear climber, set with six graduating 4.5–4.9mm, two 5.5–5.9mm, and two 7–7.4mm freshwater Grade A pearls. Total length is one inch. Part of Aglow, her modular collection of barely-there, gilded pieces built to be stacked, layered, and lived in.
The graduating size sequence is the whole point: the pearls climb from small to large as the earring arcs up the ear, which creates a sweep of soft, even luster rather than a single focal point. Worn as a stud, the pair reads classic. Reversed as a climber, they do something more. Ten Grade A freshwater pearls, chosen one by one for consistent luster and even, rounded surfaces across three size groups.
A pearl is soft, around 2.5 to 3 on the Mohs scale, so I treat them with a little extra care at the bench and I ask the same of you to wear. Put these on last, after lotion and perfume. When you take them off, wipe them gently with a soft cloth before storing. Store them flat, not hanging, so nothing puts sustained pressure on the pearl surface over time. That is the whole routine and it keeps Grade A freshwater pearls looking like this indefinitely.
Handmade and collectible.
