This Single Hammered Gold-Filled Stacking Bangle is handmade by Andrea Li: a hand-fabricated 12 gauge gold-filled wire bangle with a gorgeous hammered texture. Part of Aglow, her modular collection of barely-there, naked jewelry built to be stacked, layered, and lived in.
The hammered finish is not a coating or a print. Each strike of the hammer against the 12 gauge gold-filled wire work-hardens the metal slightly, setting the texture into the surface permanently and giving the bangle a quiet, organic movement that catches light differently at every angle. The result is a piece that looks handmade because it is, and holds its shape under real wear because the wire is heavy enough to keep it.
Stacking bangles work because they are minimal on their own and layered together, and this one is made for both. Wear it alone as a single clean accent or stack it with other Aglow pieces, mixing metals and textures, letting the hammered surface read against smooth or softer finishes. How to Determine Your Bangle Bracelet Size
Close your fingers together, bringing your thumb and little finger together (as though putting on a bangle).
Using a strip of paper or measuring tape, measure around your closed hand at the widest point, pulling the tape snug against your skin. If you are using a plain strip of paper, mark the paper with a pen, then measure the strip with a ruler. This is the circumference of your hand. Match your hand circumference to your bangle size below.
