This Herkimer diamond and crystal statement necklace was hand-built by Andrea Li in her Denver studio during a period when she was obsessed with Herkimer diamonds — picking up strands of different sizes and shapes from her vendors at the Tucson Gem Show. She also sourced large crystal points that matched the energy of the Herkimer diamonds and built the necklace around them.

Five long rock crystal pendants form the centerpiece, each hand-set with wire, with the center crystal point peg-set into a 24k gold vermeil circle as a visual anchor. Two rows of high-quality Herkimer diamonds flank the crystals, hand-bailed onto layered chains that balance the overall design. The result is a Cleopatra-inspired collar that sits at 18 inches with a 5½-inch width — architectural but light.

Andrea drew on every technique available — fabrication, wire work, and assembly — to build a piece where no single element is recognizable in the final design. This piece has found its home.
