This 14k gold-filled double pearl ear cuff is handmade by Andrea Li: a hand-fabricated 12 gauge gold-filled ear cuff set with two freshwater 8–8.4 mm grade-A pearls. It is part of Aglow, her collection of gilded, barely-there pieces built to be worn and layered without a second thought. The ear cuff sits at 2½â€³ total length, hugging the outer edge of the ear with no piercing required.
Two pearls, not one, is a deliberate choice. The pairing creates movement and a soft visual weight that a single stone does not, while staying within the range of effortless. Wear it alone as a quiet statement, or pair it with a simple stud in the lobe and let the cuff carry the composition. It is the kind of piece that works for a Tuesday morning meeting and a Saturday night in equal measure.
Handmade and collectible.
Grade-A freshwater pearls are chosen for luster and consistency of surface, the qualities that separate a pearl worth looking at up close from one that gets lost in the crowd. Because pearls are soft, around 2.5 to 3 on the Mohs scale, I apply them last in my process, after any metal forming is complete, so the nacre surface never gets near heat or abrasion.
