Limited Baroque Oval Pearl Multi-Stand Necklace

$1,475.00

This baroque pearl necklace is hand-built by Andrea Li in her Denver studio — every link in the large paperclip chain fabricated by hand, with pearl pegs soldered directly into alternating links to handset each baroque oval pearl into the chain structure itself. The pearls aren't dangling from the chain. They're part of it.

The necklace layers three strands at 16½, 19, and 24 inches. The top strand uses large 14k gold-filled paperclip links alternating with high-luster baroque pearls. The middle strand pairs smaller links with freshwater pearls. The third extends the cascade to create depth without bulk. A three-strand slider clasp holds everything secure and flat against the neck.

Andrea sourced these baroque pearls from Earthstone, one of her longtime vendors at the Tucson Gem Show. Each link needed to be uniform, and the precision soldering repeated across layers of chain had to be cohesively spaced for balance — a time-intensive process that makes this necklace impossible to replicate at scale. Built once and never repeated.

Will this work with my style?
This necklace bridges statement and classic. The three layers create presence without being costume-y — the baroque pearls read organic and modern rather than formal. Wear all three strands together for impact, or let the longest layer sit solo over a simple neckline. It works equally well with a linen blouse or a cocktail dress.
Why baroque over round pearls?
Baroque pearls form in irregular shapes — no two are identical, which makes each one a natural sculpture. They catch light from multiple angles instead of a single uniform reflection. Andrea sources her baroque pearls from Earthstone, a longtime vendor at the Tucson Gem Show, selecting each pearl for luster and shape.
How does the clasp work?
A 14k gold-filled three-strand slider clasp holds all three layers flat and secure against the back of the neck. The slider mechanism keeps the strands from tangling while allowing each layer to drape independently at its own length — 16½, 19, and 24 inches.
How do I care for pearls?
Pearls are softer than most gemstones, so avoid harsh chemicals, ultrasonic cleaners, and perfume sprays. Clean gently with a damp cloth after wearing. Store flat in an airtight bag with anti-tarnish strips to protect both the pearls and the gold-filled links. This necklace arrives in a branded gift box with a travel pouch.
