Statement Gold Two Pearl Floating Illusion Ring
The Statement Gold Two Pearl Floating Illusion Ring is handmade by Andrea Li in her Denver studio: a minimal 14k gold-filled open band engineered so that two 8.4mm freshwater pearls appear to hover above the finger rather than sit on it. The open frame disappears against the skin, and the pearls seem to exist independently of anything holding them there. That is the illusion the design is built around.
Where most pearl rings press the stone into a visible bezel or claw setting, this band is designed to recede. The structure is doing significant work without showing it. From the Aglow collection, where the design intent is always light catching, minimal, sculptural.
Pearls ask for a little care on a ring your hands wear all day. They sit around 2.5 to 3 on the Mohs scale, which makes them softer than most gemstones. Put the ring on last, after lotion and perfume. Take it off first before washing your hands or anything abrasive. The pearls stay bright longer when they are kept away from oils and chemicals that they absorb faster than harder stones.
